Recording Artist Hosts Debut Album Release Party In Second Life
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) April 18, 2007 -- Award-winning Raleigh composer, Susan Baird of Dreamaiden, will host the release party for her new debut album titled Blue Light on April 21st-22nd but it won't be where you think. The release party will be in a place called Second Life (secondlife.com), an online virtual world with over 5.5 million "residents." The party will be held at the NMC Campus on April 21- 22, 12pm-2pm.
"Initially invited into Second Life by a music producer/artist, I was so taken with his work and the environment that I stayed" says Ms. Baird on how she got involved with Second Life. She is not the only one. Many people are flocking to the 3D experience and setting up businesses that make real money.
Music is not Ms. Baird's only talent. She built an island in Second Life to showcase her print art and her motion sculptures. Seeing the perfect opportunity to introduce her music to even more people, she built her Dreamaiden Sound Booth. "It's where listeners enter a relaxing club-like environment with ambient motion light visuals. They can chill and chat while listening to Blue Light." The album is streamed into Second Life 24/7 and where residents can purchase the album online. There's also a free Dreamaiden MP3 track available only to Second Life residents.
Ms. Baird studied flute and piano for 10 years and played in a Top 40 band while earning her degrees in computer programming and electronic music composition. After years in the corporate world and composing background music for conferences and jingles for advertising, she decided to begin composing for herself.
