Musician Extends Limits of New Media

(PRWEB) June 24, 2007 -- On June 30, 2007 at 7:00 p.m CST (5:00 p.m. SL Time), talented Atlanta-based musician, Grace Buford, will be performing live to a small group gathered in Raleigh, North Carolina. That, in and of itself is not unusual. This is truly a unique performance. Not only will Ms. Buford play live to the group in Raleigh, NC she will also be playing to a much a larger crowd in the virtual world Second Live. Grace will "simulcast" in Second Life at SoHo-PodShow Island from the "Sunset Stage" (http://slurl.com/secondlife/SoHo/7/32/26).

The simulcast will feature a virtual Buford, named Cylindrian Rutabaga, playing on a virtual stage, performing to a crowd of avatars at the venue within the simulation. To add another dimension to the entire event, the 'simulcast' of Grace Buford as Cylindrian Rutabaga will again be 'simulcast' to various islands and venues all over Second Life such as Podcast Island. Ms. Buford and SoHo-PodShow believe this is the first time ever that the simulcast of a live event itself is simulcast again across Second Life.

SoHo-PodShow Island describes the event: "Grace Buford is an amazing musician with an incredible following in Second Life. Although the simulcasts of Buford's live Raleigh performance will be attended by virtual avatars, real people create and move the avatars through the game and real people will be watching the simulcast on their computer screens." SoHo-PodShow Island continues, "The added dimension of a simulcast within a simulcast will give Grace the most possible listeners to her music. If you are unable to attend Grace Buford's live event in Raleigh or see the simulcasts within Second Life, you still can also hear her performance streamed live at http://forefrontmedia.skydeckstreams.us Simulation of the real world event here on SoHo-PodShow Island gives this world an opportunity to participate in the performance."
