Creating Your World: The Official Guide to Advanced Content Creation for Second Life (Sybex; October 2007; $29.99) explains in detail how to create and use Second Life content and covers important skills like building, texturing, clothes making, scripting, animating, and terraforming. The reference and tutorial features a light-hearted, fun, conversational tone and will quickly get the new and intermediate content creators to the expert level.

The November 9th event is just the first of four Wiley has planned. It will be followed by another to celebrate and support the release of The Entrepreneur's Guide to Second Life: Making Money in the Metaverse (Sybex; November 2007; $29.99) by award winning CNET reporter Daniel Terdiman. The Entrepreneur's Guide to Second Life gives readers an in-depth look at businesses and other economic opportunities in Second Life, explains the business operations of each, and shows readers how to identify, develop, launch, and profit from their own business.

You can currently read an excerpt from The Entrepreneur's Guide to Second Life: Making Money in the Metaverse in the New York Times online and CNET:
